#WinSkullcandy Entry :D

Ok folks, this is for a competition that Skullcandy India is running and giving out loads of goodies! The freeloader and music buff that I am, just couldn't resist winning some uber-cool stuff from Skullcandy. So what you essentially have to do is to thank 5 people who've meant most to u & 5 things u want in the new year!

So here's my list (Thought i'll do it a bit differently. Hope it still counts) :D

5 People who have meant most/least (not necessarily to me) this year:-

#5. Mr. Barack Obama:- "Yes, We Can!", said the first "Black" man to enter the "White" House. Almost a year into his Presidency, the only thing that he has shown he "Can" do is send more troops to Afghanistan! So much for "Change"! D'oh!!

#4. N.D Tiwari:- "Pfizer signs up ND Tiwari for promoting Viagra":- This might well be the headline you come across in the next few days :D Mr. NDT, all of 85 years, has proved that age is definitely no bar for some spice in life! The octogenarian makes it to the list just in time before this year ends!

#3. Rakhi Sawant:- Surf through any TV channel, and chances are that you will end up seeing Ms. Rakhi Sawant on one "Reality" show or the other! The undoubted queen of the small screen for the year, she even had a "swayamvar" and got married to some nut on TV!! Respectful "News" channels like Aaj Tak have dedicated daily Hour Long pieces tracking Ms. Sawant's latest!

#2. Tiger Woods:- "Tiger, Tiger, Burning Bright" wrote William Blake. Of course he meant the feline variety and not the golfing variety! Oh how the mighty are fallen :- from one of the biggest earners in world sports and an inspiration to many to a position where you become the butt of countless internet jokes doing the rounds, your sponsors shunning you like a hot potato, and the media frenzy following romps with as many as 10 women!

And the #1 on our list *Drumrolls*.....

#1. Mr. Shashi Tharoor:- "To tweet or not to tweet, that is the question". If twitter ever decides to hire a brand ambassador, Mr. Tharoor would be the obvious choice! He has singlehandedly educated millions of Indians, who would have never heard of the microblogging site otherwise, about how to stir up the hornet's nest in 140 characters. Also a model case study for all PR Professionals : "How to constantly stay in the media's eyes with 140 characters"

Now coming to the 5 things that I want in the New Year:-

#5. No more Reality Shows/ Talent Hunts on TV:- I remember cribbing about Ekta Kapoor and her stupid Saas-Bahu soaps on TV but looking at the so called Reality TV and Talent Hunts on every damned TV channel nowadays, even Ekta Kapoor looks Steven Speilbergish!! Also someone please shut down "news" channels like Aaj Tak and India TV for chrissakes!!!

#4. Real action on Climate Change:- Copenhagen was doomed from the very beginning, but hope to see a real, effective and just climate control regime being put in place to save the planet.

#3. Pearl Jam touring India:- Eddie Vedder(God) and Pearl Jam, plz plz plz tour India this year!

#2. The Amazon Kindle:- The Kindle along with a few thousand or so books preloaded :D

#1. A pair of Skullcrushers:- Don't wanna sound patronizing but I really really want one of these babies! P.S: Won't hurt one bit if the generous Skull gifts me one :D
